iC-MCB is a bridge component suitable to implement BiSS and SSI slave functionality into any sensor device and platform. The full functionality of the BiSS C protocol is supported, including transmission of sensor data, register access to the memory ressources of the host microcontroller, daisy-chaining with further BiSS C slaves and BiSS commands. Time-critical protocol responses are processed directly by the iC-MCB and relieve the host microcontroller. The host microcontroller configures iC-MCB on start-up and provides sensor or register data. Sensor data can also be acquired automatically by iC-MCB through its configurable Fast Sensor Interface (e.g. SPI master) at the I/O crossbar. The integrated RS422 transceiver enables BiSS or SSI point-to-point applications with a maximum clock rate of 10 MHz.
